PFC3B offers CPU rate limiters, hardware-based MAC learning, and user-based rate limiting. It limits threats from the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) server, default gateway, or end-user IP address-spoofing using features such as DHCP Snooping, Dynamic Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) Inspection, and IP Source Guard. The supervisor engine allows close control over the end with which users can access the network and what privileges they are granted through identity-based networking with IEEE 802.1x, port-based security, and port-based access lists. These integrated security features are hardware based and can be enabled concurrently without compromising system performance as traffic levels increase. -

WS-CAC-6000W Overview
If you're in need of a power supply, the Cisco WS-CAC-6000W may be exactly what you need. A hot-plug, plug-in AC Power module, the Catalyst 6500 6000W is compatible with all Cisco Catalyst 6500 Series Switches. The product, as its name suggests, provides 6000 Watts of output power if both inputs are 220 VAC and 2900W if both inputs are active, but at least one of the inputs is at 110 VAC or a single input is active and at 220 VAC. While many AC power modules produce 2500 - 4000 watts of AC power, the WS-CAC-6000W provides a higher wattage power supply which will be able to support future PoE devices. In short, it's a good investment whether or not upgrading to a higher-performance system is in your future plans. As a replacement model the recommended (and minimum) CatOS is 8.4(1) and recommended (and minimum) IOS (12.2S train) is 12.2(18)SXD. -
